Art Journaling, Visual Journaling and Altered Book Workshops
with Nikki Pitcher
Free yourself from the 12x12 square. Embrace your child-like instinct to tear books apart and write on pages not meant to be written in. Give your photos and memorabilia a fun place to stay. In my new workshops we will be altering books, making journals and creating alternatives to traditional scrapbooks. We will tear apart old books and fill them with pictures, images, paintings, drawings, embellishments and more. We will create unique journals to take with you on your vacation or to record everyday life and moments. These workshops will be held once a month along with a monthly Altered book club. Please call the store for more information.
-Art Journaling: Art journaling is the creative process of pulling together color, words and images as you wish on a page. The process uses paint and drawing techniques along with images and words to tell your story.
-Visual Journaling: Visual journaling is a creative way to express and record life's experiences, feelings, emotional reactions, or our inner world - visually and verbally. The process uses images on paper in an abstract way to tell your story.
-Altered Book: a form of mixed media artwork that changes a book from its original form into a different form, altering its appearance and/or meaning. This process can alter a book’s pages or tear apart a book and rebind it back together.
