Rain, Rain, and more Rain!!!

Well, rain IS why it is so beautiful in the Pacific Northwest!  They (the weather men and women) say we should expect about 1"  of rain today, and that may not seem like a lot of rain, but when it comes all in one day it is.  I am working today at SHARIN MEMORIES in Olympia.  It is a very quiet day today, so I am cleaning, moving papers around, getting inspired, and thinking of more great ideas for the store.

We are at this very moment getting a "Facebook"  page set-up and ready for you to follow us there too.  We want you...Our Friends...to know  what we have to offer the minute we get it in the store.  We want YOU to be able to follow us in a variety of ways for your convenience.  This way you can check on classes, work shops, make n takes, super crops, dinner crops, whats new every minute.  We want to be your habit!

Sooo..... now we have the website:  http://www.sharinmemories.com/  and from there, you can see Carole's BLOG and Jodie's BLOG and soon you can be our friends on FACEBOOK too!

My advice for the day...curl up on the sofa with a good book and a nice cup of diet mountain dew (lol) that would be my choice.  Or come to the store during your luch break and see whats new, or just come by to say hello.

The Glass Museum

It is Spring Break for the colleges!  that means my daughter Hilary is home for the week!  We have had such a nice time.  she is a fabulous baker (she learned fron the best), cookies, home-made pizza, and bread, she plays with the boys, (my boys that is) we have great conversations, and we spent one day together at the Museum of Glass up in Tacoma.  What a great Place.  Did you know that on the 3rd Thursday of each month between 5 and 8 pm it is FREE?  Well Hilary informed me that that was a great deal, but today was Wednesday... we had a great time anyway!, however, we liked the walk over the bridge with all the beautiful glass pieces and the glass ceiling to the Old Train Station a lot more then the actual museum.  there were some amazing displays from the museum donated by:  Dale Chihuly.  Oh my goodness, it is so bright and colorful!  Here are a few examples of some of our favorites.  Enjoy your weekend!

Pansies and Dancing!

Who doesn't love PANSIES?  Don't they just scream Spring with their pretty little faces?  I love them!  I bought some on the last day of Winter, it was such a beautiful day.  I planted them in window box in the front of the house so I can see them everyday when I open the blinds.
Another wonderful part of Spring is the DANCING!  what dancing you may ask...well the Irish Dancing of course.  Many of you know that my youngest son has been dancing for almost 8 years now and the 17th of March...Saint Patricks Day is always busy for us.  Hunter and all teh girls he dances with form groups and dance all over town.  We danced at 22 different locations this year to include schools, nursing homes, county buildings, country clubs, and Irish pubs.  What a day!  Everyone has such a great time entertaining all these folks.  Here are a couple photos to remember the day.  Erin  Go Brough!

NEW BOY PAPERS

Happy Saturday!!!  Oh my goodness, were we ever busy at the store today...It was a wonderful fast paced day...We met lots of ladies from far away today and there was a lot of energy everywhere.  We also had the "Rubbermaids"  cropping downstairs, so the store was jumpin'.  It occured to me as all the ladies were commenting about all the great and pretty papers and ooh la la the beautiful flowers...and the pretty ribbons...that we seldom say much about the "boy" papers.  Well I have 2 boys and I am always looking for nice masculin looking paper too.  Don't get me wrong at all ladies, you all know I love the FLUFF as much as the rest of you, but I think we found a couple of great boy lines.  One from My Little Yellow Bicycle called "Generation Z" and  the newest in the store from Paper Loft called "Dude"  Check it out below.  and Enjoy your Sunday!

It snowed yesterday!!!

Well just as soon as I said, I think Spring is here...It snowed yesterday and it is 37 degrees in Rainier today!.  Geez It is freezing today!  I just got a note from the familiy that took our puppy Zeus, and he seems to be doing well.  Our Big dog...Atilla... is doing just fine without him and seems much more at ease.  And we are so happy.  My boys were out playing in the backyard for the first time in almost a year.  No puppies jumping on them, trying to bite them, chasing, clawing.  It was great.  I am off to run errands today and do some shopping.

One more quick thing...we now have a few "Exploding Box Kits" available at the store.  Suzanne has her new page layout kits and our St Patricks Day and Happy Easter papers have arrived.  Stop by and check it out.  Enjoy your day!

Is it Spring???

What a busy and great weekend.  Whew!  It was non-stop busy at my house and at the store this weekend.  As many of you already know, it was the first weekend of the Northwest Paper Chase.  We were so so busy and met so may great gals from all over Washington.  It was a WILD time at Sharin memories!

Hunter, my youngest son (13) had a Feis up in Seattle.  For those of you who do not know, he is an irish dancer and has been dancing now for 7 years.  He performs all over Olympia, Seattle, and Portland doing shows, fundraisers, and benifits.  But this weekend was a competition and it went pretty well.  Hunter took 2 1st places and a 3rd place in his new reel!  Needless to say he was very happy and Mike and I were very proud!

We came home from the Feis and then the folks who came up from Shellton came to get our puppy Zeus.  We have been looking for a new home for home for about a month.  Good Luck to them and we hope Zeus will be happier there!

I just want to say how happy I am that Spring is here, at least it seems like it is.  All around me trees and plants are coming back to life....bulbs are popping out, buds are swollen, and even the daffadils are on the verge of bursting.  I could not help but to take a few photos.... Enjoy!

Today was the first day of the Shop Hop!

WOWzers...what a great day!  Suzanne and I worked  hard and fast today, we had lots of gals doing the shop hop, and we had quite a few going to the beach for a retreat.  All were kind enough to stop by Sharin Memories to gather supplies to get them through the weekend.  We had special treat today for the first 50 people of the SHOP HOP (a small bag of Prima Flowers)  Tomorrow it will be another surprize...You'll have to stop by to see what it is though (hee hee)  It is always great to meet new friends in the scrapbboking world, to share creative ideas and to find out what people are looking for too.  the Shop Hop is just the time to do that.  I am tired and have a long and busy day tomorrow so I will leave you with a photo of the beautiful Graphic 45 Wall in our store.  ENJOY!!!

It's my first Post!

Good afternoon everyone I am so excited today to start blogging. I was working as a sub today at my kids school. It can be exhausting at times, but the more I do it the more I realize that for some kids, this is their safe haven...the place they feel validated and wanted. And if I can brighten someones day even just a little bit, with a kind word or gesture, well then, It is all worth it! So now onto something fun I have been working on....hee hee. I saw this tutorial on the PRIMA blog and had to try it myself, and it is so darling, you should try one too! This is a tag book or a tag card, and it only takes one piece of patterned paper, a partial sheet of a coordinating paper for the tags, some ribbon for trim and for the tags, I used some STICKLES around some for the flowers as an embellishment, and of course, I had to ad a big flower on the front too. Check it out!
